i have a question about stucka 250kg bomb, se i play a ww2 online game and i always thot you didnt have to hit the a tank with the bomb you could hit like 1 tank away and take out the tank, whats is the real thing that hapend when a bomb like that went off next to a pz or a stug tank. and if you know about the shell size difrents between the 88 tiger gun compair to the 76 sherman, i know the 88 shell is alot biger than the old 75mm sherman, but everyone says the 76mm is alot biger than 75, what i always thot i knew was the 76mm brit gun on sherman was just beter for pireceing armor, my hole thing on that was i thot the 88 high explosive shell was way biger than 76mm shell thats not high explosive, do you have a picture of 88mm germ SHELL next to 76mm sherman SHELL, i know that the mm dosnt count for the shell size and thats what im trying to get a copaired thing. THX maby im rong.

The big difference between the 75 mm and 76 mm gun, is that the 76 mm is a high velocity gun, this combined with the new HVAP rounds, made it a much better gun, allthough the new AP rounds were very scarce in the beginning.

Hypervelocity Armor Piercing HVAP ammunition standardized as M93, was developed for the 76 mm gun in July 1944. This new projectile could penetrate the front turret of the Panther at longer ranges than standard ammunition.

The higher-velocity 76 mm gun M1 gun gave Shermans anti-tank firepower at least equal to most of the German vehicles they encountered, particularly the Panzer IV, and StuG. However, with a regular AP (Armour Piercing, Shot) ammunition (M79) or APCBC (M62) shells, the 76 mm could only reliably knock out a Panther at close range, or with a shot to its flank.

The 88 mm was still superior to the 76 mm.
