The Barmaleï Fountain, six children who dance around a crocodile, in Stalingrad was restored after the war, but was removed after the war.
The ironic view of the dancing children in the middle of the rubble of Stalingrad made this fountain world famous, and became a symbol of the battle of Stalingrad, that's why I don't understand why the Sovjets removed the fountain.
Does anybody knows why? A search on google and wikipedia didn't gave me any satisfying results.
Thanks
P.S. You can also see the fountain in Enemy at the Gates and V for Vendetta.
